However, if you are open minded or already love dark, erotic romance, then you should definitely give this book a try. Be advised that if stories that discuss rape are a trigger, then this may not be the book for you. Reading this again has me anticipating the release of Kinkaid that much more! After having been in Sabrina’s head as their relationship developed, I cannot wait to be in Donovan’s head soon. There is no question that this book is incredibly hot and filled with a rollercoaster of emotions leading up to a cliffhanger ending that was unexpected for the heroine and to me as the reader.
This one novel had me hooked and motivated me to devour everything by this author and other similar authors. We can be shaped by our past traumas and life experiences to want things that are outside of the norm, and we shouldn’t be judged for the ways that we learn to cope. The story provided an explanation that made something I might have otherwise judged as unhealthy in a way that they made a kind of sense I hadn’t considered before. It was so much darker, describing relationships which I had never even imagined.
I think I loved it even more than the first time around! It was an entirely new sub genre of romance novel than any I had read before. I did so again this week so it was fresh for this review. I think that this was the first novel by Laurelin Paige that I ever read. I am voluntarily leaving this review after reading an advanced complementary copy.So addicting and even better the second time around!
If that checks your boxes, this story is not one which should be missed. Keep in mind that this is called dark, erotic romance for a reason. Again, avoid this if sexual assault is a trigger for you. I cannot wait for the release of Kinkaid to experience this love story from inside Donovan’s head. I could read Sabrina and Donovan’s story over an over. Who is gets to decide what love looks like? It is an emotional conclusion to Dirty Filthy Rich Men and starts off a series that is compelling and different for each of the rich men and the woman they love. Donovan has to explain himself to her and she must decide what she is willing to accept in their relationship. In this story, we learn just how deep and far back the connection between Sabrina and Donovan goes.
I am reviewing after my second reading of this book, the first having been at the time it was released. The original conclusion to the Dirty Duet, now to be a trilogy was an experience, not just a book. Just how deep and how far back does their connection go?
